Ingredients
Base
- 2 c all-purpose flour
- 1 t baking soda
- 1/2 t baking powder
- 1/2 t salt
- 1/2 t ground cloves
- 1 t ground cinnamon
- 1 t ground nutmeg
- 1 t ginger
- 3/4 c melted butter
- 1 c sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 c pumpkin
Frosting
- 8 T room-temp butter
- 6 oz room-temp cream cheese
- 1/8 t salt
- 1 t vanilla
- 3 c powdered sugar
Directions
Base
- Preheat the oven to 350.
- Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
- Beat butter with sugar on medium speed until just combined.
- Add eggs one at a time. Beat each one in before adding the next.
- Beat in pumpkin.
- Add dry ingredients and mix on low until well combined.
- Pour the batter into the pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 15 minutes.
- Set on a wire rack and let cool completely.
Frosting
- Beat butter with cream cheese on high speed until smooth and creamy.
- Beat in salt and vanilla.
- Add powdered sugar and beat on low for 30 seconds, then switch to high speed and beat until light and creamy.
- Spread the frosting on the cooled cake.
