Challah

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c brown sugar
  • 1 T salt
  • 1 1/2 T yeast
  • 1 1/2 c warm water (microwave 30 seconds)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 c olive oil
  • 7 c flour

Directions

  1. Stir together brown sugar, salt, yeast, and water. Let sit a few minutes till foamy.
  2. Add eggs, olive oil, and flour.
  3. Knead several minutes till smooth and soft. Electric mixer works best.
  4. Let rise till doubled (about 1 hour), shape, let rise 30 minutes, bake.
